Why you need a sworn translation of a criminal record certificate

Only a translator appointed by Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC) can produce a translation that Spanish immigration, consulates and foreign authorities accept as legally valid.

I translate the full certificate (personal details, "no convictions" statement or record, stamps, verification codes and the Hague Apostille if it carries one) and issue it with my signature, stamp and declaration of accuracy.

When you contact me, you deal directly with me. I answer your first message, review the document, prepare the sworn translation and hand it to you signed and stamped. If you also need me in person at a notary, a police station or a court hearing, I can attend as your sworn interpreter with the same MAEC appointment.

FAQs about the translation of criminal record

Can you work from the PDF I downloaded from the Ministry of Justice?

Yes. The digital certificate with its verification code is a valid source for the sworn translation.

How long does it take?

Usually 2–3 working days. If you're on a tighter deadline, tell me when you send the document and I'll confirm whether I can meet it.

Will Spanish immigration and foreign authorities accept the translation?

Yes. It's signed and stamped by a sworn translator with a current MAEC appointment (Nº 3189), which is what Spanish Extranjería, consulates and foreign authorities require.

Can we handle everything online?

Yes. Send the certificate by WhatsApp or email and I deliver the sworn translation digitally with a valid electronic signature. Paper copy on request.
